Conference Awards
Call for AACG Award Nominations
The American Association for Crystal Growth presents three awards at its conferences to its members who have made outstanding or significant contributions to the field of crystal growth or the organization.
We are now soliciting nominations for these awards. They will be presented at the next ACCGE-24/OMVPE-22 conference in Stevenson, Washington, USA, to be held July 13-18, 2025.
The awards are:
1. The prestigious AACG Award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of crystal growth and epitaxy.
2. The AACG Young Scientist Award is given to an early career scientist (typically 35 years or younger) working in the fields of crystal growth research, development, practice, theory, modeling, characterization, application or production to recognize their outstanding scientific and technical contributions in the field of Crystal Growth. The award shall be made based on published papers, patents, conference presentations, products or teaching deriving from the candidate’s work. The criteria for selection shall be scientific excellence, clarity of presentation and impact on the field of crystal growth.
3. The Gentile Service Award is given for dedicated service to the AACG.
The AACG Award comes with an honorarium of $1000 and an inscribed plaque containing a ruby crystal. The Young Author award comes with an honorarium of $500 and a plaque. The AACG Award and the Young Author Award prize winners will present plenary talks at the conference. The Gentile Service Award for dedicated service to the AACG comes with a plaque and a suitable gift.
The suggested format for nominations will be an overall letter describing the reason for the nomination, three supporting letters from others, and the curriculum vitae of the nominee
The deadline for submission of award nominations is Monday, June 2, 2025.
