About the Role

Requirements

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor critical parameters and address factors that impact process control, yield, and throughput.

  • Utilize fundamental understanding of materials science and crystal growth to develop growth processes for new materials, and for root cause failure analysis for existing processes.

  • Support manufacturing operations in capacity expansion, process/capability development for new materials and supplier qualification while maintaining quality and meeting product specifications.

  • Provide technical knowledge for problem solving, process troubleshooting and new part or vendor qualification projects. 

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience; advanced degree preferred with equivalent work experience.

  • 5 years’ preferred experience in crystal growth or materials related production environment 

  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as furnaces, ovens, programmable controllers, materials characterization equipment, etc.

  • Working knowledge of SPC and DoE

  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution

  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements

  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and technical summaries, presentations when applicable.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working as part of a team

  • Understanding of OSHA requirements in relation to a production work environment

  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software

Skills

  • Experience with Czochralski and/or liquid phase epitaxy crystal growth desirable

  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting crystal growth equipment

  • Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple projects including planning and executing budgets

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities

  • Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment

  • Handle special assignments promptly and professionally

  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency

Working Conditions

Standing - particularly for sustained periods of time, 50 – 75% of time

Lifting - up to 40 lbs

Pushing/Pulling - up to 25 lbs.

Sitting - up to 8 hour per day

Noise level usually moderate to loud

Job operates in a professional office environment and production floor including all facilities infrastructure

Physical Requirements

Standing - particularly for sustained periods of time, 50 – 75% of time

Lifting - up to 40 lbs.

Pushing/Pulling - up to 25 lbs.

Sitting - up to 8 hour per day

Walking - ability to move about facility

Safety Requirements
