Requirements
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Identify and monitor critical parameters and address factors that impact process control, yield, and throughput.
Utilize fundamental understanding of materials science and crystal growth to develop growth processes for new materials, and for root cause failure analysis for existing processes.
Support manufacturing operations in capacity expansion, process/capability development for new materials and supplier qualification while maintaining quality and meeting product specifications.
Provide technical knowledge for problem solving, process troubleshooting and new part or vendor qualification projects.
Education & Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience; advanced degree preferred with equivalent work experience.
5 years’ preferred experience in crystal growth or materials related production environment
Experience using laboratory equipment such as furnaces, ovens, programmable controllers, materials characterization equipment, etc.
Working knowledge of SPC and DoE
Experience with problem analysis and resolution
Ability to recommend and implement improvements
Maintain records, prepare reports, and technical summaries, presentations when applicable.
Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working as part of a team
Understanding of OSHA requirements in relation to a production work environment
Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software
Skills
Experience with Czochralski and/or liquid phase epitaxy crystal growth desirable
Working knowledge of troubleshooting crystal growth equipment
Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple projects including planning and executing budgets
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities
Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment
Handle special assignments promptly and professionally
Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency
Working Conditions
Standing - particularly for sustained periods of time, 50 – 75% of time
Pushing/Pulling - up to 25 lbs.
Sitting - up to 8 hour per day
Noise level usually moderate to loud
Job operates in a professional office environment and production floor including all facilities infrastructure
Physical Requirements
Standing - particularly for sustained periods of time, 50 – 75% of time

Pushing/Pulling - up to 25 lbs.

Safety Requirements
