We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Crystallography team
supporting company wide drug discovery efforts. The primary role will be to
crystallize proteins and protein/inhibitor complexes from a wide range of therapeutic
targets towards the goal of structure based drug design.
The candidate will work on many projects collaboratively with our crystallographers
to coordinate all facets of screening, optimization and soaking using our state of the
art robotics and database. Ideally the candidate will become proficient at using X-ray
generators for data collection. The candidate will interface with project teams as well
as our protein purification group to aid in the characterization and quality of samples.
Lab management duties include monthly robot calibrations, maintaining liquid nitrogen
storage system, and ordering and maintaining lab supplies.
Applicants with a BS plus 4 yrs. experience, or a MS plus 2 yrs. experience in protein
biochemistry or related field desired. Ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual
with excellent planning and organizational skills and be able to multi-task to work
effectively on many projects. Experience in protein expression, protein purification,
crystallization or robotics is desirable. The candidate must have good computer skills
with experience using databases to store, share and retrieve data.
