Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Iowa
State University and Ames Laboratory. Applications are invited for a
Postdoctoral position in the field of experimental condensed matter
physics. The position combines the growth and characterization of large
single-crystals of correlated electron systems, most notably transition
metal oxides, with a vigorous program to study the fundamental magnetic
and lattice excitations of these crystals via neutron scattering. The
ideal applicant will have significant expertise in the growth of
single-crystals using an image furnace or similar device. Knowledge of
strongly correlated electron systems and interest or experience in
neutron scattering is desirable. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in
physics or a closely related field and should submit a curriculum vitae
and a statement of research interests to: Professor Robert McQueeney,
Department of Physics & Astronomy, Iowa State University, Ames, IA
50011, USA or to [Contact Information Removed].
Applicants should also arrange
to have three letters of reference sent to the same address. Ames
Laboratory is an EEO/AA employer.
