Requirements:

A bachelor or masters degree in chemistry /chemical engineering/life sciences or a related field is required. Typically, 3-5 plus years of relevant laboratory experience in biopharmaceutical drug development are also required. Strong communication and problem solving skills need to be demonstrated. The candidate should have expertise with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, circular dichroism, and fluorescence. Also experience with mass spectrometry and calorimetry techniques is desired. Good troubleshooting skills regarding laboratory analytical instruments and excellent organizational skills regarding data management are essential for this position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will conduct protein characterization research to support formulation development projects for liquid, lyophilized, and alternative dosage forms. The candidate must have excellent grasp of protein biochemistry, physical chemistry and bioanalytical techniques for characterizing macromolecules. Experience and knowledge in protein crystallization and lyophilization are highly advantageous. Critical skills for this position include ability to design, execute, interpret, summarize and present laboratory experiments. Reading scientific literature and demonstrating strong scientific curiosity are essential for this position. Additional responsibilities include maintaining laboratory notebook and/or computer files, participating in group and project meetings, and attending and presenting at seminars as required.
