The Synoptics Business Unit (formerly Litton-Airtron Synoptics) of Northrop Grumman
Space Technology is seeking a Crystal Growth Engineer. Candidate will provide support
for high temperature oxide Czochralski growth processes, with the goal of continually
improving production growth yields. Candidate will also be expected to concurrently
develop improved Czochralski growth techniques for high temperature oxide materials.
Successful candidate will have, or should develop, a passion for crystal growth.
A successful process improvement strategy will require basic knowledge of some of the
following areas: crystal growth fundamentals, statistical process control, designed
experiments, control theory and equipment maintenance. B. S. or M. S. in a materials
related field (Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Ceramics...). Some experience
helpful, but not required.
