The Nineteenth AACGE-western section Conference on Crystal Growth and Epitaxy will be held June 13-16, 2004 at the Stanford Sierra Camp at Fallen Leaf Lake, CA. The AACGE-western section meetings are organized with an emphasis on a smaller more intimate venue than typical of large national or international meetings. The arrangement of sessions (no parallel sessions to choose among) and the facilities of the Stanford Sierra Camp offer many opportunities for informal discussions as well as the formal presentations in both oral and poster format.

Lodging, meals, and social events are included with your registration. Registration fees: $685 (AACGE members), $735 (non-members), $585 (students), $325 (accompanying adults), $150 (children 3-12). The camp facilities include two to three bedroom condominium style units with private decks and excellent views of Fallen Leaf Lake and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Meals are provided in a common dining room. The conference schedule generally includes formal sessions in the mornings and evenings, leaving the afternoons free to explore the adjacent wilderness area on foot, relax by the lake, or take the trip into nearby South Lake Tahoe to experience the casinos. Recreational facilities at the camp include: basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, horseshoes, beach access, and boats are available. There is no charge for the use of sailboats, canoes, rowboats or kayaks.

Families are encouraged to attend, with the Stanford Sierra Camp facilities designed to accommodate families, provisions for spouses and children have been included in the registration options. Pets are not allowed at the camp.

Articles to bring: toilet articles, alarm clock, FLASHLIGHT, sturdy shoes, casual clothes, sweaters, and jackets (snow is possible at the camp level). Hiking boots, backpacks, and other recreational gear you might want for afternoon excursions into the wilderness area.
