Young Author Award
The Young Author Award is presented to a candidate less than 35 years of age for fresh and imaginative contributions to the field of crystal growth. This work must have been performed in the United States, after his or her formal training
and subsequently published in refereed journals. The winner will receive a framed citation and a $1000 award.
The documentation that serves as the nomination shall consist of three parts:
Part I – Summary: Date, name of nominee, occupation, position, postal address, 30-word citation, major achievements and honors (8 lines), name/address/phone number of nominator (no self-nominations).
Part II- Evaluation of nominee (2 pages or less than 700 words): Assess career and highlight accomplishments. In particular the nominator should discuss the publication or series thereof that distinguish this body of work.
Part III- Attachments: List awards and other honors, relevant publications and patents, etc.

Gentile Service Award
The Gentile Service Award is presented to a candidate for exemplary service to the crystal growth community and the AACG in particular. The winner will receive a framed citation and a $1000 award.
The documentation that serves as the nomination shall consist of two parts:
Part I- Summary: Date, name of nominee, occupation, position, postal address, 30-word citation, major achievements and honors (8 lines), name/address/phone number of nominator (no self-nominations).
Part II- Evaluation of nominee (1 page or less than 350 words): Discuss the nominee’s career in terms of his or her service to the crystal growth committee. Examples of mentoring, offices held, conference responsibilities, government advocacy, etc. will be helpful in the evaluation and selection process.

The deadline for nominations for either award is April 15, 2001. The completed package or any inquiries should be sent to one of the Awards Committee Chairs:
