Wafer Polishing Engineer, Crystal Innovative Semiconductors (IS) Inc.

Crystal Innovative Semiconductors (IS) Inc. is looking for a Wafer Polishing Engineer for the development and control of Semiconductor Substrate Processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development, process optimization and control of lapping, edge grinding, polishing, and CMP of semiconductor wafers (Aluminum Nitride).
  • X-ray orientation of crystals and optimization of slicing techniques.
  • Use of metrology tools for characterizing of wafer attributes and quality.
  • Design of experiments and statistical process control. Prepare formal documentation and test reports.
  • Qualify new processes and consumables. Work with vendors to develop cost effective polishing solutions.
  • Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for tools and equipment.
  • Establish standard operation procedures (SOP) and quality documents.
  • Train operators and technicians on new procedures.
Experience / Requirements:
  • BS degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering field. MS degree is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of relevant industry experience. Hands-On experience related to slicing, grinding and polishing processes (semiconductors or other hard materials) is preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with epitaxial growth and characterization techniques preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is familiar with X-ray methods for crystal orientation and advanced metrology methods – AFM, optical interferometry etc.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, able to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Access or other database familiarity desired.
  • Able to work flexible hours, as needed.
  • Valid working permit for the US required.
