Senior Crystal Growth Technician,
RMD, Inc.

RMD is seeking detail-oriented, hands-on experienced crystal growers and crystal growth technicians who are capable of handling the requirements of multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working in a research and development environment is desirable. The position involves working with chemicals, sealing of quartz ampoules, material handling in a glovebox, crystal growth of scintillator and semiconductor materials, processing and characterization of crystals and assembled packages, ball milling of powders and powder processing at room and high temperatures. A mechanical and electrical aptitude is highly desired. Skill with machine tools is beneficial. Assembly and troubleshooting of custom equipment is an ongoing part of the research environment. Routine internal oral and written presentation of research results is required.

MS or BS plus 5 years experience, or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
 
Laboratory experience in a research environment working with the following:
Crystal growth
Handling air-sensitive and/or hazardous materials
Vacuum systems
Glass blowing and quartz fabrication
Some machinist skills
