A
Postdoctoral Research Associate position in solid state chemistry is
available in the Materials Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory.
The project involves the synthesis, characterization, modification of
various crystalline chalcogenide compounds including CdSe, PbSe, PbS,
CdTe, and new materials. The candidate is expected to work independently
and conduct research in a highly interdisciplinary environment of chemist,
physicist and materials scientists. The successful candidate should
have a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science or a related field. Applicants
must demonstrate experience in synthesis, large crystal growth and characterization
for bulk materials. Experience with crystal growth techniques such as
Bridgman, Czochralski and flux is highly preferred.
The position is available for one year with the possibility of extension
for subsequent years.
