throughput in Crystal operations by working and coordinating with each
crystal plant organization around the world.
Job Scope:
Work with each crystal manufacturing
plant site's appropriate production & engineering personnel and
develop opportunities for cost improvement such as: reducing supplies
usage, improving first pull attempts, increasing productivity, cycle
time and equipment uptime and reducing maintenance and repair costs.
Improve and reinforce the "Best Practices" process by sharing
information from each crystal manufacturing operation and duplicating
those efforts to other sites as well.
Principal activities will include
but not limited to:
- Maintaining up to
date crystal manufacturing information via plant visits and conference
calls with each site team and review production and cost variances against
forecasts, and coordinating actions to reduce their costs, take note
of new ideas and duplicate that to other sites.
- Visit sites to know
each plant's manufacturing processes and production & engineering
personnel better and assist them in improving their processes and systems.
- Study processes
and methods that improve our throughput (attempts, equipment downtime,
cold time) and materials and supply usage, write procedures as necessary,
take pictures and video as necessary and train other sites to do the
same thing.
- Provide regular
reports to Sr. Management showing progress of each team in areas of
cost, status of actions, and opportunities for improvement.

crystal manufacturing personnel on a global basis to ensure efficient
operations and recommends changes as needed.
- Develop programs
to promote/encourage cost reduction activities.
- Conduct research
