Business Development Manager,
Princeton One

Basic Function:
This position sells services and products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services. This position will oversee web marketing efforts, trade shows, and all other marketing functions required to reach customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Make sales contacts, research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner by:
  • Determining market strategies & goals for each product and service.
  • Obtaining & coordinating data & information from staff & member groups
  • Researching and developing lists of potential customers
  • Doing market research to determine customer needs & providing information to other staff
  • Evaluating product & service marketability in terms of customers’ technical & manufacturing needs
  • Following up on sales leads and making cold calls on potential customers
  • Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets
  • Establishing & maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales
  • Maintain and grow margins or take appropriate actions with customer / factory to address
Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:
  • Developing sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products & services
  • Making presentations to OEMs, users, suppliers, etc.
  • Developing technical presentations
  • Maintaining up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends & government regulations
  • Making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads
  • Establishing long-term, ongoing repeat relationships
  • Acting to close deals & finalize contracts
  • Meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals
  • Resolving problems with products and services
Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner by:
  • Researching, developing & maintaining long & short range sales & marketing plans
  • Producing regular reports & final plans for the Manager’s approval
  • Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans
  • Developing & regularly updating promotional materials to target identified customers
  • Monitoring, analyzing, & communicating monthly sales data to contribute to product/service planning
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers as defined in the policy, Employee Communications within, and using established guidelines by:
  • Communicating openly, honestly and constructively
  • Treating all employees and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy
  • Taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication trust and respect concerns and problems
  • Asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities
Develop and maintain marketing efforts through the use of printed material, web-based marketing, trade shows:
  • Research and determine appropriate trade shows in which to exhibit
  • Manage and maintain the company website
  • Manage and maintain appropriate search engine optimization to direct customers to the website
  • Manage and maintain the web marketing firms to generate leads and to promote the company’s website and website traffic.
  • Application of Lean manufacturing concepts, including 5S.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Company Quality Management System and properly apply Quality and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
  • Perform all work related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Ability to travel, up to 50% of the time, internationally and domestic.
Delegation of Authorities:
  • Personnel Authority.This position does have direct-delegated personnel authority but dotted line to the New Product Manager.
  • Financial Authority.This position has delegated financial authority.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this individual. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Working Relationships:
Must work effectively with organizational personnel with various degrees of education, work experience, and understanding of quality terms.

  • Bachelors degree and/or 5 years of field sales experience, or equivalent, required

  • In-depth knowledge of target market industries
