- WCQ is a world leader in the manufacturing of quartz and
silicon products for the semiconductor and solar industries
with headquarters in Fremont, California. Due to heightened
demand for our products, we are looking for a candidate to
join our fast paced, energetic company as a:
SENIOR SILICON GROWING MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR TECHNICIAN
The successful Senior Maintenance and Repair Technician candidate
will have significant experience in working on Kayex crystal
growing furnaces and other equipment used to grow silicon,
including Crystalox equipment.
RELOCATION EXPENSES AND A SIGNING BONUS ARE AVAILABLE
- Required Skills and Competencies:
-
- Comprehensive electronic, vacuum and electrical knowledge.
- Perform routine and emergency repairs on Kayex and other
equipment used to grow silicon.
- Maintain high efficiency of machine operations by
monitoring equipment performance and reducing machine downtime.
- Ability to test and adjust chemical levels in water.
- Assemble, calibrate and install new equipment.
- Use proper PM procedures while working on equipment.
- Experience in identifying and repairing vacuum leaks.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic issues and related equipment malfunctions.
- Investigate motor and equipment failures and rebuild equipment.
- Monitor and repair D/I water systems.
- Ensure company standards and policies are met relative to
the maintenance of production equipment.
- Familiarity with UPS battery power units.
- Correctly use and support of Lockout/Tag-out policy.
- Maintain parts inventory by monitoring and ordering parts
to ensure adequate inventory.
- Other duties as needed.
- Required Personal Skills and Competencies:
-
- 3-5 years working on equipment used in the silicon
growing industry, specifically crystal growing furnaces
and other equipment used to grow silicon.
- Proven history of ability to keep equipment operating at
high levels of efficiency, and minimizing equipment downtime.
- “Can-do” attitude with ability to multi-task and quickly
prioritize in a time sensitive and fast paced work environment.
- Team player who is willing to put in the work to finish
the job correctly the first time.
- Effective problem solving techniques. Maintain high quality
of repair work.
- Ability to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and handle objects up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule needed to meet emergency deadlines/operational
needs.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience required:

- 3-5 years of successful experience working in the field of
maintenance and repairs with specific experience in working
on and repairing silicon growing equipment.
