Rubicon offers an exciting opportunity for career growth, at our Chicago area facility. Job Description: This function is primarily focused on growth of sapphire and other compound single crystals. Rubicon uses a modified form of Kyropolous technique for manufacturing our superior sapphire single crystals. Relevant experience in bulk crystal growth techniques such as EFG, HDSM, or Czochralski is therefore required. Duties and Responsibilities: Design, maintain, and operate crystal growth equipment. Optimize crystal growth process for quality, yield, and throughput improvement. Stay current with industry trends and technology. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Graduate degree in materials science, chemistry, or physics. Hands on experience in bulk crystal growth techniques. Hands on experience in growth apparatus design and construction. Familiar with metrology tools – XRD, optical interferometry, AFM. Knowledge of statistical methods for process characterization.
